Elite Outdoor Structures Donates Building to Perkasie Dog Park

Elite Outdoor Structures is proud to have been integral to the finalization of the Perkasie Dog Park in Perkasie, PA. As dog owners ourselves, we were happy to help make this project become a reality by donating one of our sheds to the cause.

The Perkasie Dog Park opened back in May 2011 and was worked on by the Perkasie Dog Owners Group Inc. for six years. This non-profit group was able to raise $30,000 for the construction of the project. The efforts of the Dog Owners Group and volunteers from the community allowed the park to be equipped with fences, restrooms, and even dog water fountains. The park is situated on Tom Bancroft Field, a one acre plot of land at Lenape Park in Perkasie Pennsylvania.

Tom Bancroft, the former president of the Perkasie Dog Owners Group, sadly succumbed to cancer on September 16, 2011. However, as part of his original plan for the dog park, Elite Outdoor Structures donated a storage shed to hold gardening equipment, waste disposal bags, and signs for various events.

Elite Outdoor Structures worked with J. Weisberg Custom Builders in Sellersville to turn the 8 by 10 A-frame shed into a unique giant doghouse. This design, part of Bancroft’s final vision, acts as a focal point for the area and brings character to the park. The shed was installed with a stone bed foundation due to the lands proximity to a flood plain.

For several years, the Perkasie Dog Park was run and maintained by the Perkasie Dog Owners Group on land leased by the Borough of Perkasie. On April 7, 2015 the lease was ended and the park is now run by the Borough.

Elite Outdoor Structures has been providing the Pennsylvania and New Jersey areas with quality outdoor structures and installation for many years. If you are interested in learning more about our products and services, take a look at the rest of our site or contact us by phone or email.
